Re: Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe
Let me see for myself. I'm sure I wouldn't mind Joe, but his fans suck so much dick it's really quite terrible!

Re: Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe
Well imo, it was Bernard's fight to win or lose. He wasn't active enough, and when he did throw it was only one shot at a time. The lead right was locked in for B-Hop all night, he would have been well suited to follow the lead right with a left hook at the very least. His willingness to sit back and be inactive combined with his not throwing enough when he did let his hands go, lost him the fight 114-113 Calzaghe on my scorecard.
I really have no idea what Hopkins was waiting on, it's not like Joe was hurting him, or had the power to hurt him, if Bernard had opened up more. Definitely a fight Hopkins will regret the rest of his life, because it was totally winnable, and right there for the taking. Bernard was way to patient this time, and it cost him.

Brilliant performance from both fighters! Although I thought Hopkins won the fight I'm a big fan of Joe Calzaghe and there can be no complaint about him winning the fight.

I think Hopkins set a record for most clinches in 12 rounds. Obvious win for Joe Calzaghe, and it's no surprise the judge who scored it for Hopkins was Adalaide Byrd.

Bizarre that so many had Hopkins winning this, he went into a shell after the first few rounds and got slapped around. He was even dropping to his knees and almost looked ready to cry.
I guess people already have it in their heads that he's some master boxer, that even when he gets massively outlanded and slapped around he somehow still deserved it.

Re: Battle Of The Planet: Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe
There were about 5 rounds which I found virtually impossible to score because they were such a mess. I only had 2 clear rounds for Hopkins, including a 10-8, whilst I had 5 clear rounds in favor of Joe Calzaghe. Overall I think Joe probably deserved to nick this one, but a really awful fight to watch and score.

Re: Battle Of The Planet: Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe
Joe dominated late on in this fight landing many scoring punches. I didn't really see too much effective shots from Hopkins which i feel is the only way you can score the fight for him given his inactivity. Round 3 and 10 could go either way but that wouldn't make a difference on my card with Calzaghe still winning. In round 3 Hopkins was too inactive and 'safety' to win the round and in round 10 I wouldn't want to be in Hopkins boots eating that many 'slaps'.
