Prediction,

First fight was great, Navarrete was did great, pulled out the upset, won a UD, probably a clear win. Dogboe lost the first fight, and it was a tough, tough 12 rounds, he showed a lot of grit, but he took damage, and paid the price for underestimating Navarrete. For Dogboe, I wonder if the immediate rematch was a mistake, and it might be too soon, but if he takes Navarrete as seriously as he should, doesn't underestimate him again, I think he will win, but it will not be easy, Navarrete fought a great fight the first time, he is an underrated fighter.

Navarrete is solid, has a great chin, and he has great power, not the sort of fighter you can neglect your defence against, but Dogboe is a big puncher himself, he is a very good offensive fighter, solid jab, great athlete, and I think don't think he was overrated before he lost to Navarrete.

I think Dogboe, this time, will be more methodical, have a better game plan, more respect for Navarrete's power. I think for Dogboe to win this fight, his best bet, early, is to be aware of the shots coming his way, but not get backed up, not let Navarrete use his reach and control the distance, he should try to work the body, move his head going forward and get into range, break down the reach, if he can do that, he can dominate the fight. Dogboe should use his jab when Navarrete is aggressive, he didn't use his jab enough in the first fight, he fought Navarrete's fight.

I think this will be a great fight, Dogboe will start a lot better than in the first fight, the mid rounds will be close, Dogboe will use his jab, follow it up, land more, and counter Navarrete as he comes in, but Navarrete will be more aggressive, pushing the pace, will throw more shots, do more damage, and he will have the slightly better finish to the fight, as the naturally bigger fighter, will out hustle Dogboe, but both fighters will empty their tanks in the last few rounds.

I think both fighters will be better this time than they were the first time, because Navarrete will also have learned and improved from the first time, but Dogboe will be a different fighter this time, it will be close, but Dogboe will edge it, maybe even by SD, but I think Dogboe will win.

Matchroom's picture

Navarrete completely ate Dogboe alive, fight should have been stopped by the 8th round.

Paul Dogboe has got to be one of the worst trainers to ever live. This shouldn't have gone past round 9. This was just uncomfortable to watch by that point.

On the other hand a fantastic performance from Navarrate! This dude's only 24 years old, he's a big guy for the division, and I could see him making waves at higher weight classes. He's got the power, he's got the skills, and he's got obscenely long arms.
