Prediction,

Good fight.

I think Chudinov wins, Mohammedi is decent, but at this level, I don't think he is solid, he can be hurt, and Chudinov has won, achieved at a higher level, the win over Felix Sturm is an example. Mohammedi was stopped early by Kovalev and Gvozsyk, and he has been stopped early another twice in his career, at world level, he has had basically no success, but at a lower level, he has a lot of experience, has done very well, is coming two straight wins, only this is a higher level fight, and he is fighting a solid world level fighter in this fight.

I think Chudinov stops Mohammedi in 6.

Awful performance from Fedor Chudinov, but what an effort from Mohammedi!
Waiting to hear the decision, let's hope there is no homwtown decision, Chudinov knows he's lost, there is one clear winner.

I came in during the 4th round(got off work late), but I thought the same. Was being outworked, outlanded, and had no momentum. Don't know how those cards can be turned in with a straight face.

Russian robbery has me worried for Usyk. Wonder if he needs a KO to get a fair shake...

Gold's picture

Here are the judges for the Usyk vs. Gassiev bout:

Phillipe Verbeke (Belgium):
Lots of experience in Europe but not a lot of big fights outside of European based champions like Wladimir Klitschko. He's judged for many years though. Scored Povetkin vs. Huck 114-114 while the other two judges scored it 8-4 and 7-4-1 for Povetkin which is a good sign in my opinion. Not a whole lot to go off of otherwise, he has been on the "wrong" side of split decisions in Russia in lower level fights though so that is a potential concern.

Robin Taylor (USA):
Has a lot of experience as a judge based out of New York, plenty of world title bouts. Scored Usyk vs. Breidis 115-113 for Usyk which I think is a good score. Had Linares up 86-84 versus Lomachenko which I think is a decent scorecard. Scored Gamboa vs. Sosa a draw which is bad but not as bad as the other two judges who somehow scored it for Sosa. I wouldn't be too worried about her as a judge.

Mauro Di Fiore (Italy):
Based out of Chicago, has a decent amount of world title experience. Scored Yamanaka vs. Moreno 115-113 for Yamanaka which is a relatively bad scorecard. Scored Adamek vs. Briggs a draw which I think is fine. Scored Ken Shiro vs. Ganigan Lopez I 115-113 for Shiro which I think is fine. Not sure what to make of him really.

The Chudinov fight was using Russian Boxing Federation judges correct? These three are appointed by the sanctioning bodies which gives a better chance at a fair fight even though it doesn't make it a certainty.

SalTnutZ1's picture

I think you are right on both accounts. Just puts a sour taste in your mouth for the rest of the fights, and any event in Russia is suspect, as they are notorious sport cheats, as you know.

Let's hope the fighters don't leave it in the hands of the judges.

Champion97's picture

The judges for Usyk vs Gassiev were fine, unlike the morons who judged this fight.

Champion97's picture

Bullshit!
Those judges should be jailed!
The Russian fans aren't cheering, Chudinov knows he lost, absolute robbery.
Terrible for boxing, Milke and the other skumbag should be sacked and fined heavily.

A rematch would be good to see, I think Chudinov can do much better than he did last night, and I still think he is the better fighter, but he wasn't the better fighter on the night. I wonder if there might be a rematch, if Chudinov is going to beat Mohammedi in a possible but not highly likely rematch, he would have to be a different fighter, because in this fight, he was very poor, if this wasn't an off night, which it probably was, then he is a shot fighter, he took a beating against Groves, but I think it was more to do with it being a bad, bad day at the office. This has to be the worst decision I've seen in a while, absolute bullshit.

mohamedi was robbed again saturday in germany
