Felix Trinidad vs. Hacine Cherifi
Fight Notes: Felix Trinidad returns home to Puerto Rico after the first loss of his career to bounce back against Hacine Cherifi. Cherifi comes to fight but gets sent onto the seat of his pants with a straight right hand in the third round. Trinidad drops him to his hands and knees with a monstrous left hook in the fourth as well. When he tries to stand, Cherifi collapses again but somehow still beats the count. Trinidad drops him once more, and, even though Cherifi shows heart in getting up again, Referee Ismael Quinones Falu waves the fight over. |

Re: Felix Trinidad vs. Hacine Cherifi
I was bitterly disappointed by Trinidad's choice for a bounce back opponent. At first, I remember it was going to be Harry Simon which was a solid undefeated opponent and I mean Trinidad could've very well beaten Harry Simon. When Simon felt thru, I remember Trinidad's camp tried to broker a deal with Armand Krajnc for his WBO Middleweight portion of the belt scrambles. It seemed like it was going to happen but Krajnc didn't want to go to Puerto Rico and defend his title there instead he wanted the fight to take place in some place in Europe like Sweden. So that felt thru. Then Trinidad's camp said the French toast was a more than adequate opponent for his comeback fight since the Hopkins loss. Okay. If you want to say that, I guess.
