Another short fight.

Boxing Purist's picture

The smaller man by almost 20 pounds Ettore comes out as the aggressor and looks to take it straight too the favorite Louis. By the minute mark of the first session Joe has Ettore staggered and already on the seat of his trunks for the first knockdown, and this one looks to be just a matter of time. With his corner screaming at him for the rest of the round to "get your hands up!" Al is knocked around the ring for the rest of the period with Joe's jab, though Al does manage to get a couple decent licks in. Joe controls the next 2 frames, in the 4th Ettore looks to get back in the fight using head-movement to try to get inside and land, to which he does find some success. But Joe's sledgehammer right finds Al's chin again as he is smashed to the canvas. Ettore beats the count but is pummeled till the bell. Ettore comes out for what will be the final session and puts up a valiant effort, until Joe catches him with two colossal left hooks that send Ettore crashing to the mat again in a heap, and almost falls out of the ring trying to regain his footing. Another early night for Louis against a top rated contender.
