Re: Joe Louis vs Buddy Baer
What started out as a scare for the World Heavyweight Champion ended in what had to be disappointment. Louis who started out having a good opening session against the much larger Baer was knocked clear through the ropes in the final minute of the frame. Baer tries to get the finish but the resilient Louis boxes his way to the bell. From then on it was all the champion, who easily won the next four frames before flattening and battering Baer 3 times in the 6th. Baer's corner tried to claim foul on the final knockdown blow saying it was after the bell to no avail, and Baer's corner refuses to let their fighter come out to answer the bell for the 7th round in protest. And Joe Louis defends his World Heavyweight Championship again, this time by disqualification in what should have been a knockout ruling for the champion.
