Interesting fight. A good performance from both guys in different ways. Calic showed that he's a good fighter, rangey, good fast combinations. Buatsi showed that he's a real tough guy and can dea with adversity. When his eye went I feared for him. He showed good heart and got to his man in the end.

I worry a bit for Buatsi as he moves up to world class. He just seems to easy to hit. Calic couldn't miss with that right hand over the top and that was before Buatsi had the problem with the eye. He just couldn't see that shot coming at all.

Obviously he's still learning and hopefully will get better but he's got to tighten up defensively. I'd love to see him in against Yarde. If he went in against an elite fighter like Bivol or Berterviev I think he gets knocked out. I'm not sure if I fancy his chances against Yarde either to be fair but unsure how much the Kovalev fight took out of him.

I think inactivity was a factor for Buatsi, I think don't think inexperienced fighters deal with ring rust well, I thought it was a terrible start from Buatsi, but he was calm, was patient, and he knew he could hurt Calic. I think Buatsi has the potential to be very good, but like Rapid said, his defence was poor in this fight, I think offensively, Buatsi was great in this fight, he's well schooled, his technique is good, and he held up well mentally, but his defence is his problem.
