Re: Luis Collazo vs. Amir Khan
I'm watching this fight again...and I can totally see Khan winning against Floyd.
It's not just about the speed...it's how he uses it.
These are the attributes Khan has that would get him a victory over Floyd
1) Movement across the ring. He can jump in the inside, nail you with a bunch of punches and then get out of range for your counter. Floyd can only defend so many punches before getting overwhelmed. Usually he will come back with hard counter to discourage his opponent from doing this. Floyd wouldn't hit Khan as often as his other adversaries.
2) Jab. Khan's jab is not just quick, but is stiff, hard and commanding. The best punch against the philly shell defense used by Floyd will generally be the Power Jab. Although Khan doesn't throw his Jab as a power Jab, is hard enough to stun Floyd and set him up for something else. De la hoya and Cotto were succesful when using the power jab against Floyd.
3) Double right!!! Khan uses it wonderfully. When used with speed is a marvelous weapon.
Cotto and Maidana used it with some success since it demands some quickness because the right it's the slower hand in the orthodox stance. Khan's right cross not just fast but accurate.
I hope floyd decides to fight Khan in Novemeber. Otherwise it will be a long year.

Re: Luis Collazo vs. Amir Khan
One of Khan's best performances, possibly the best.
I think this was Amir Khan at his best, this Khan, I think would give anyone problems, beat nearly anybody. At this point, in 2014, Khan had his best year, with great performances against Collazo and Alexander, Mayweather's age was showing in his fights, so at this time, Khan was seen as very much a threat to Mayweather, I don't think he would have beaten him, but I do think he would have given him a tricky night's work.

Re: Luis Collazo vs. Amir Khan
not buying the kahn hype, speeed is never a problem with floyd even if kahn is faster. both pillow punches. floyd masterclass.....
but floyd is old and he could be washed up,, like alot of kahns opponents. kahn has beat NAMES not FIGHTERS. judah, calloza, ect list goes on and on of guys he fought not at there best ..
