Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Prediction.
Campbell is 33, Garcia has the momentum, is improving, made big statements in his last 2 fights, Duno and Fonseca were both supposed to be fairly tough tests, he has potential, but this is a big step up for him, and it's a question of whether it's too soon for him. Garcia fought in 2020, Campbell didn't, but he went 12 against Lomachenko more recently than Garcia went past the first round. Campbell is the more experienced fighter, Garcia was a good amateur, but Campbell won medals at world tournaments, and Garcia has been 10 rounds, but not 12, Campbell has fought Linares, Lomachenko, beat Mendy. Garcia can definitely hurt Campbell, he's proven he has power in his last few fights, and Campbell doesn't have a good chin, he has defensive ability, but can be caught, the question is how Garcia capitalises if he hurts him, if he can take advantage and not punch himself out. As well as the experience aspect, Garcia hasn't fought a southpaw in 3 years, which is another reason Campbell should give him problems.
I think Campbell will throw more in the early rounds, won't be the aggressor, but I think he'll be busier on the back foot, throw combinations, Garcia will struggle with the speed and variety, I think Garcia will be patient, won't get frustrated, but will struggle with the angles, will struggle to make Campbell work. I think Garcia will swing the fight in his favour in the mid rounds, land a counter, hurt Campbell, but Campbell is durable, Garcia can get into range and attack if Campbell is on unsteady legs, but Campbell is too experienced not to cover up and see the shots, and he won't be static on the ropes unless Garcia lands a great body shot which incapacitates him, which I don't think he will. Garcia's defensive punching is a danger for Campbell, and if he lands a counter off the back foot, which Campbell walks into, he could be out cold. Both are more likely to make a mistake in the late rounds, but that's more risky for Campbell, because Garcia can hurt him more easily, and I think he'll have enough in the tank to stop Campbell, Campbell will have less resistance and be more unsteady than if he's hurt earlier in the fight.
I think Garcia stops Campbell in 10 rounds, I think Campbell will be ahead on the cards, I would not be at all surprised if Campbell won a UD or if he stops Garcia by breaking him down with his consistent attacking to head and body, but I think Garcia will stop him late.

Super excited for this fight. This is (at least on paper) a true 50/50 fight, I genuinely can't call it. I think someone is probably getting KO'd, I don't know who though.

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Looks like we got a real fight coming up! Truth be told it's extremely difficult to see who would win because Ryan hasn't been tested even close to his true skill level(ie the 2 1st round knockouts). The outcome would depend on how many tricks Ryan has picked up from Reynoso's gym ever since he joined. If I would have to guess, Ryan has learned just enough to make up for his inexperience and will stop Campbell around round 11 or so. Ryan will struggle with Campbell's movement and angles, and he may not be able to land a strong counter until at least round 4, which would begin the turning point for Ryan but Campbell would still be in it( Ryan may be safe in the stamina department as he has been through 10 round before, and the Reynosos like I said should have been able to improve his conditioning). Campbell and Ryan will fight evenly but each shot that Ryan lands will affect Campbell, especially if he lands to the body. By the end of the fight, Campbell will instinctively make a mistake to try and bring some offense to Ryan due to how hurt he is, but Ryan will time him perfectly and win by KO(Luke might be up either 96-94, 97-93, 86-85, 87-84 depending how many rounds they fought imo).

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
i will say any man can win. for one, king ry could prove him self as a serious top lightweight by winning. however that's not all. luke campbell may be able to beat garcia because ryan has never fought a fighter like campbell and this could be a mistake by making to far of a step up. i want both guys to win. i want ryan to fight haney and keep his undefeated record but at the same time, i kinda want campbell to shut ryan's mouth. idk who is going to win and i don't know who i want tot win either

I'm changing to Garcia in the 12th. It'll be close but he'll make his statement and seal the deal in impressive fashion in the last round.

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Love this fight. Garcia's hype is hard to deny. I have to wonder how well his short left hook will work against a long southpaw but he is capable of more and I do trust that his athletic advantage will hold up in a longer fight. I see a back and forth fight where RG is finally tested but comes through on the cards. 114-112 Garcia (both get 1 KD)

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Man that was good while it lasted. Absolute beast of a body shot. Great performance from both guys.
Garcia is so sharp and powerful. Very quick hands. Spiteful. He will have learned a lot from that fight. Luke found a home for the left hand to the body. Garcia could do with improving his footwork a bit but that just seems to be his style. Garcia will go on to some super fights now.
Oh he just called Tank out in the post fight interview! Yikes. Be careful what you wish for Ryan....

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Great finish from Garcia, it was a hard, accurate, well timed body shot, he looked for the shot earlier in the fight, but he found the opening at the end. Campbell's heart is underrated, he wasn't deciding whether to get up as the commentator said, he was trying his best to get up from a body shot that had incapacitated him, he almost beat the count, but I doubt he'd have got through the round if he had.
Campbell's defence was great for most of the fight, he was prepared for Garcia's combinations, blocked well, landed the cleaner shots, picked Garcia off at times, his amateur background was clear, he used his footwork to position his shots, was a step ahead of Garcia at times, but his output was low because of his respect for Garcia's power, he was offset by Garcia's speed and reflexes, and Garcia had the momentum for the majority of the fight. The knock down was brilliant from Campbell, it was inexperience from Garcia, but Garcia responded well mentally, didn't get into a fight or flight mentality, kept pressuring Campbell, and Campbell couldn't do much to build on it.
I think Campbell would have beat Garcia fairly comfortably 2 years ago, I think the Reynosos are doing a great job, I think they'll build head movement into his style as he gets more experienced, but I don't think he could have landed a body shot as accurate and methodical as that before he trained with the Reynosos, and it looked like they were telling him to use the jab to position his combinations when he backed Campbell up.

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
Excellent fight. Congrats to Ryan Garcia for getting the job done. However, as I'm sure others saw as well, I saw enough flaws in his game to indicate either A) He has not yet reached his professional prime yet or B) This may be as good as he gets. If the latter his true, he will have a tough time with the rest of the elite at 135.
His defense seemed lazy and leaky while his footwork looked awful. He didn't even look like he was trying to keep his lead foot outside of Campbell's - almost like it didn't matter to him. I think that poor footwork opened him up for some of the shots he took and also meant he was in poor balance when taking them. His saving grace of course is that power/speed combination - the threat of it will keep opponents' hands at home and always give him a punchers chance when he is being out-boxed. Assuming Tank is now campaigning at 135 (I believe he will - that is where the money fights will be at)...I would rank the division as follows: 1) Teo 2) Loma 3) Tank 4) Garcia 5) Haney. The 135 division is setting up to be a real bloodbath the next 2-4 years, especially if Stevenson grows into it.

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
I agree with most of what you say there, but I think we can be sure, all being well, this isn't as good as Garcia gets, given how young he is, if this is as good as he gets, the Reynosos aren't the trainers we think they are. Good point about Garcia's footwork, I noticed Campbell's lead foot was outside his, and if it was a stand off, that would have been important, but Garcia had the momentum, was out working Campbell.
I agree with that list, I think by the time Stevenson is at 135, Garcia and Lopez won't be, but the next generation looks competitive, no doubt, and at 140 and 147 are solid divisions as well.

Re: Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia
I must say what a great fucking card to start 2021! Seriously, Garcia vs Campbell and R. Alvarado vs Gutierrez were both Main Event perhaps even FOTY candidates this fucking early on in the year. If this is any motherfucking indication, we're in for a good year for boxing!
