Night Of The Undisputed: Bernard Hopkins vs. William Joppy
Fight Notes: In the main event of Don King's super pay-per-view, undisputed Middleweight Champion Bernard Hopkins defends his titles against former WBA Champion William Joppy. A grudge match years in the making, Hopkins bets Joppy $50,000 that he will knock him out and mugs his challenger for twelve mostly one-sided rounds. After some good two-way action in rounds seven and eight, Hopkins starts landing clean shots and swelling Joppy's face up. Hopkins tries hard for the knockout in the twelfth, but Joppy holds enough to survive to the final bell and win the bet but not the belts. |
