Prediction,

Never seen Butaev fight, but he seems like a good prospect, 9-0, was a good amateur, 400 fights, won almost all of them. Butaev is 24, so he should be improving, has enough time to learn before stepping up. Butaev has been 8 rounds twice, got a decision win over then unbeaten Janer Gonzalez, got a shutout against Gabor Gorbics, so he has that experience of going 8 rounds, whilst still having a KO percentage of 78. Based on BoxRec, I'm impressed by Butaev, in his last fight, knocked out Ramses Agaton in 3 rounds, earlier than Custio Clayton, Egidijus Kavaliauskas.

I think this fight is just keeps Butaev busy, I don't think this is a step up in terms of opponent or title, but it is scheduled for 10 rounds. I don't think rounds 9 and 10 being scheduled will matter in this fight, Cosio has been stopped 5 times, stopped in 5 rounds against Cesar Miguel Barrionuevo, stopped in 3 against Cesar Humberto Velez, he did last 6 against Besputin, got stopped in the same round against Lejarraga as against Velez, more recently, which suggests he was better in those fights, against better opposition, but still, he is 37, 7 losses, been dropped at least 8 times, so he is old, and he is not a fresh fighter.

I think Butaev will stop Cosio in 4 rounds, definitely inside 6, but Cosio does have professional experience on his side, obviously not amateur, but professional, and he does have 58% KOs, which is a lot for a fighter who has lost 20-25% of his fights, so if he lands clean, Butaev's chin might be tested, but Cosio might not be as big a puncher as his fights against lesser opposition suggests, still, he has enough power that you don't want to walk into his punches, and he was a Latino champion, but still, I think he is oast his prime, this is about timing, levels, and Butaev will dominate, stop Cosio in 4 rounds.

Butaev vs Molina would be interesting, Molina is still able to give fighters rounds, a veteran, still durable, like Cosio, but with a much tougher chin, and with world level experience.

Same as my last post on HBO undercard bouts, there is no way to watch tonight, I've searched high and low.
