Titles at Stake:
Undefeated Diego Corrales wins his first title when he stops undefeated IBF Super Featherweight Champion Roberto Garcia on the undercard of a bout between Mike Tyson and Orlin Norris. Garcia stuns Corrales with a big left hook in the second round, but his face becomes a bloody mess due to a cut over his right eye suffered while slugging it out with Corrales in the third. In the sixth round, a left hook from Corrales buckles Garcia's knees. He finally goes down on his hands and knees after a right hand. Garcia beats the count but goes down on a knee once more after a straight right hand and an uppercut from the challenger. Although he makes it out of the round, Garcia is dropped into the ropes by a one-two early in the seventh round, and Referee Joe Cortez waves the bout over without counting.
