There is no doubt after the landslide victory Prime Joe Frazier had over Ali that he was definitely out of his prime, it is known that took a huge toll on him and he became over-confident and overweight and got knocked out by George Foreman in their first and second fight. Hypothetically say Joe Frazier's burning hatred and falling out was not with Ali but was with George Foreman instead and the 1973 Prime George Foreman fought the prime 1971 Joe Frazier.
I want to hear your thoughts on this people, so far the consensus I have found elsewhere says that if Frazier's bobbing and weaving and movement is good enough to survive the first 6 round Foreman would be tired out and Frazier would be free to start working the body and perhaps get a late KO or UD. The other scenario is that despite Frazier's heart and being in his prime that his style is still made for Foreman and Foreman would still brutalize him within the first 6 rounds and winning by KO. So eye on the ring folk I was wondering what your input was on this topic. Thanks for reading.

1971 Joe Frazier vs 1973 George Foreman
Anyone ?
All I have to say about any fighter of this era is that I believe they would be easily handled by any world class boxer in their division today.
Most of them do weigh up to and above 40 lbs more so if I think of Joe Frazier vs Wladimir Klitschko it basically has to p4p.
My vote is for Foreman. Ali was coming back from a long layoff. Joe was a thorn in Ali's side in all three fights actually. The Rumble in the Jungle is still considered a huge upset. George also put down a young Ken Norton that had just beaten Ali, early.
Hey vock thanks for your input. Do you think if Ali had a rematch with Foreman that Ali would win again ?
If you don't mind me getting involved in this discussion, I think no, I believe the rumble in the jungle was a real triumph by Ali, a one in a million finish, it was well planned, but if you look at common opponents them Foreman appears to be superior, I think a rematch would have been good, but, I think Foreman would have paced himself, cut off the ring without punching himself out and carried more spite in those body shots, I think it would have been very close and would have gone the distance.
These are my thoughts as well.
Cool, I would have liked to see Ali in his prime fight Holmes in his prime, to be honest, I would have tipped Holmes to edge that one.
Ali would of won the rematch as well, but foreman had the punchers chance with the better age.
I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not.
