Notably coming in, Baer was in a car accident that was said to have injured his arm. The effect it was rumored to have appears to be true, as he is reluctant to throw it and slings it awkwardly when he does. Not long is needed for Louis to start finding Baer with rights, left hooks and uppercuts to the face. A barrage of rights has Baer hurt, and Louis starts to apply pressure. When Baer plants himself awkwardly on the ropes, Louis blasts his body with hooks. In the center of the ring, a left hook to the body-right hand over the top sends Baer crashing down. Barely up at nine, Baer absorbs another two-fisted barrage. With Louis having a hard time missing, he lays him down again with a cross. An overhand hurts Baer yet again, then a right uppercut twists then flattens him on the canvas for the sixth and final time in their total seven rounds fought. Baer tries to rise late, but rolls over. Baer may have been injured and shot (retiring after this), but Louis was still leagues above and would always win no matter when or how often they fought.
