Re: Errol Spence Jr vs Phil Lo Greco Scorecard by Addi_Bomaye
R1- It’s notable that they are fighting on a card headlined by Shawn Porter, who dominantly shut out Lo Greco, but Spence would go on to just edge in an all time classic bout. Both are catching eachothers jabs, yet Lo Greco is fighting smart. He is keeping his lead foot outside of Spence’s, making it rough and backing up the pressure fighter, and landing body punches on the vaunted body puncher. Lo Greco also catches Spence coming in with a solid right at one point. Surprisingly good start from Lo Greco, yet the momentum he established was about to be shut down quick.

R2- Lo Greco tries to make it an inside brawl at the start, but Spence quickly shuts that down with his body work. Now Spence is the one doing the roughhousing, keeping Lo Greco off balance, and is consistently battering his body with hooks, which allows him to efficiently land left uppercuts due to Lo Greco bringing his arms down. A right hook seems to shake Lo Greco up a bit at the end, but he tries to shake it off. Good round for Spence.

R3- They have a short war of body shots early on, and Spence of course wins it by landing more shots and with greater power, along with the occasional mix of hooks to both sides of the head. The body work of Spence stops Lo Greco in his tracks eventually, then he sends him crashing face first from a right hook. Lo Greco bravely tries to fight back, even after being wobbled by a chopping left. The hooks from both hands and uppercuts are just unable to miss, and Lo Greco is clearly not getting in any better shape from here, so the referee stops it. Pretty solid win for Spence I’d say, as he made short work out of someone that Shawn Porter could not put away after beating for ten whole rounds.
