Firepower: Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto
Fight Notes: Pacquiao adds to his legacy by picking up Cotto's welterweight belt--his seventh title in different weight classes, surpassing Oscar De La Hoya's record by one--in an entertaining fight that grew more one-sided as it progressed, until Bayless stepped in to save Cotto from further punishment. |

What a phenomenal performance from Manny Pacquiao! It is fights like this that remind one who Manny Pacquiao really is, and also, how much of a warrior Miguel Cotto is.

Re: Firepower: Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto
No offense but boxing rules don’t seem to be clearly explained in how to score a fight. For example I am seeing rd 3 scored 10-8 and 9-9. However it would be scored 10-8 for Pac if you felt he won the round....it would be scored 10-9 for Pac (not 9-9 lol) if you felt Cotto won the rd outside of the KD. Boxing need to do a better job of explaining scoring rules to the viewing public. 1 judge scored 10-8 and felt Pac won the round the other 2 judges scored it 10-9 for Pac based on thinking that Cotto won the round (not 9-9). Here is a link to a decent article explaining this controversial scoring issue in case it come up in another fight or if you want to fix your scorecard.

If you think Cotto won the round outside the KD, it is possible he loses 10-9, but not necessarily, I think it is best to go 10-8 whether the guy wins or loses the rest of the round.
