The Brown Bomber defends his World Heavyweight Championship in exciting and brutal fashion over Heavyweight contender Johnny Paycheck. Joe left no doubt it would be a short night in the first session when he dropped his challenger in a heap with the first jarring punch he landed. Paycheck to my surprise made it out of the first frame despite being dropped hard 3 times, but it was over in the 2nd when Louis landed one sledgehammer shot to the jaw turning the challengers lights out. The ref does not bother with a count this time as it is clear Paycheck is not getting up, and Joe Louis successfully defends his championship.
