Prediction.

Oubaali's lateral movement is great, he is well schooled, has good punch selection and accuracy, Donaire isn't a great defensive fighter, but he isn't vulnerable in the pocket, he is a great pressure fighter, cuts off the ring well, and Ouballi often has success with the lead left hand, Donaire has a great counter right hand, Oubaali's chin has been somewhat tested, but he has to respect Donaire's power, that will compromise his offence.

Oubaali is 4 years younger than Donaire, and he's a lot fresher, but as experienced as he is, Donaire is more experienced, Donaire's form has been brilliant, Donaire has been slowly declining for years, and has adapted well, his age in of itself shouldn't be an issue for him in this fight for that reason, provided he hasn't got old overnight, and Oubaali is still old himself, is more reliant on foot speed and agility than Donaire, and hasn't proven he can adapt to gradual physical decline like Donaire has, Donaire is more reliant on power, he's a more strategic 12 round fighter given his experience, and his because he's more experienced, ring rust is more likely to be an issue for Oubaali. Ouballi can give Donaire problems by stepping in with a combination and moving off to the side, but for how much of the fight Donaire is able to reposition his feet and be consistent is very important. Donaire is a counter puncher, but he isn't reliant on it, he can make it hard for Oubaali to get into a rhythm by backing him up by being first, won't be frustrated by Oubaali's defence.

I think Donaire will force Oubaali onto the defensive in the first few rounds, will land the right to the body from long range, he won't land many head shots, and he won't be able to put Oubaali on the ropes for a sustained period, but he will dictate the pace, Oubaali will be hesitant to throw after he's felt the power, will fall short with the left hand. I think Oubaali will do better in the mid rounds, will use his feet to slip inside, throw a combination, and move off to the side, Donaire will struggle with his combinations, but I think the fight will take more out of Oubaali, Donaire will time him more easily in the late rounds, Oubaali's legs will have slowed down from Donaire's pressure and body shots, Donaire will increase his output, and he'll have more momentum in the late rounds. I don't think Donaire will stop Oubaali because I think Oubaali's defence will still be good, he will be on the defensive, and trying to set up a counter off the back foot, but Donaire will come on strong.

I think Donaire wins a UD, I wouldn't be surprised if Oubaali won a UD or even stopped Donaire if he's gotten old overnight, but I wouldn't be surprised if Donaire got a late stoppage.

Donaire UD. I do think NO is a troubling matchup for ND. ND's counter game breaks down when consistently pressured, he's at a speed disadvantage and there's a real chance he's shot. But if he has any explosiveness left, I'm not convinced NO has the size to be a consistent bully in this fight. NO's rhythm can be predictable and if the pressure slows down, he'll start eating big counters.

Great performance from Donaire. Oubaali tried to take centre ring at the start of the fight, but Donaire forced him to back up, didn't walk into anything, took his time, used his feet, and he put Oubaali on the back foot. For a fighter who had been out for 18 months, Donaire's timing was phenomenal, and his defence was good, he pulled back when Oubaali let his hands go, blocked well, moved his head as he stepped in. Donaire timed his right hand well, but because of the position of Oubaali's head, he was more accurate with the left hook, it was a great counter left hook that scored the first knock down. Oubaali was hurt bad after round 3, the shot was just after the bell, there's an argument the second of knock down shouldn't have been ruled, but it wasn't malicious, and Oubaali was already hurt from the first knock down. I thought Oubaali recovered very well between rounds 3 and 4, considering how hurt he was, I didn't think Donaire picked up where he left off in round 3, but he hadn't fully recovered, and Donaire was timing him more and more easily, he had no answer for Donaire's right hand and left hook at that stage.
