Jarod Killian's picture

Brazil is not known for producing boxers they put out a halfway decent fighter every couple of decades and this is coming from someone that as much as it pains me to admit this at one point I thought Popo Freitas was going to be an all time great. So um yeah face palm moment for me but anyways let’s see what this Robson dude can do.

Gold's picture

He won't go anywhere, 32 year old 5 year pro with little improvement to his amateur style or a notable increase in opposition

Conceicao was a great amateur, is very well schooled, but he hasn't transitioned well from amateur to professional, he's a fast starter, backs his opponent up early, throws fast, accurate combinations, his judgement of distance is good, he knows when to step back, but he doesn't control distance for a sustained period, his jab is fast and accurate, but he doesn't use it strategically, it doesn't set up his power shots, he's often neutralised as the fight goes on, is hard to get to because he's defensively solid, his footwork and blocking are great, but he doesn't break his opponent down, goes on and off the attack, seems to lack tactical discipline, he can fight at mid range, but he loses his accuracy in close.
