“SOURCES: Zolani Tete suffered a shoulder injury and withdrew from @WBSuperSeries semifinal vs. Nonito Donaire set for Saturday. Donaire could still fight, possibly vs. Stephon Young, who is slated to face Nikolai Potapov on the undercard. Also possible Donaire-Tete rescheduled”

Was very disappointed to find this out. My birthday is on the 27th and this was the fight I was looking most forward to

Disappointed to hear this, I was interested to see if Tete had improved with a new camp from his previous poor performance and to see if Donaire had enough left to challenge him.

Stephon Young to replace. Was fighting on undercard already, so easiest fill in.

Donaire's title is still on the line given Young is ranked #5 by the WBA. The winner of Donaire vs. Young to fight the Inoue vs. Rodriguez winner in the finals. Donaire will be slaughtered by Inoue, but I'm happy Inoue will get the opportunity. He missed out on getting the torch passed from Chocolatito and Yamanaka by circumstances outside of his control. Donaire is a HOF lock and it will be a great passing of the torch from one generation to the next.
