R1- Charlo is busy with the jab and occasionally getting the right through the guard. Johnson is doing a pretty good job blocking shots, but he is hardly pulling the trigger and is inaccurate when flurrying.

R2- The crowd is evidently dissatisfied with the action throughout. Johnson gets Charlo to walk into one clean right hand and showboats immediately after, but he is doing too little too far in between. On the other hand, Charlo is able to get in enough 1-2’s to comfortably win the round, despite Johnson making himself a tricky target.

R3- Charlo puts another round in the bag easily with consistent double and triple jabs. Johnson gets in another counter right on the otherwise defensively-responsible Charlo, but he seems unaware that he cannot win a round off one punch alone. The booing becomes real profuse in the final minute.

R4- A 1-2 through the Johnson’s noncomplacent guard has him dazed, but he recovers pretty fast. Charlo is also doing better in regards to moving his head and going to the body.

R5- Now an even lower amount is being thrown by Johnson, and he is only throwing with poor technique. Charlo is ducking unusually low when rolling, but is coming up with left hooks. He also rocks Johnson briefly with a 1-1-2, as he is having little issue piercing his guard now.

R6- The persistent ones and twos as well as counter left hooks and uppercuts easily win it for Charlo. Johnson is clearly getting frustrated, as he nearly shoves Charlo to the canvas before the bell.

R7- Late, a counter left hook backs Johnson into the opposite side of the ring. Johnson is clearly unsteady, as he even turns away at one point. Charlo is seemingly doing damage with every shot from there, but Johnson halts his momentum by slamming him into the canvas. The ref justifiably deducts a point from him, but fails to call time while doing so. The round closes with a messy exchange, where Johnson immediately gets clocked with a left hook. Johnson questionably taunts after, and gets rocked by a straight right soon after, just for Charlo to taunt back. Best round of the fight, and a strong one for Charlo, who may have gotten at least a knockdown without the foul occuring.

R8- The frustrated Johnson picks up the pace, but he is too sloppy and Charlo is able to roll past most of his shots. The jab and right are still doing great work for Charlo, and he is also clearly bothering Johnson with left hooks to the body.

R9- Now Charlo is throwing with more speed behind his combinations. Johnson has success in the final thirty seconds due to a rally, but he did it far too late to overshadow Charlo’s previous work. He also tries to taunt once again before the bell, just to take a 1-2 clean as a response.

R10- Charlo continues to stick and move, piling up points with 1-2’s and staying out of the way of Johnson’s offense. While Charlo did not look great nor add any weight to his resume with this win, he ultimately did what he was supposed to do, and that is dominate. Johnson had success in spurts, but was far too outclassed and inconsistent to win a round.
