R1- Both are primarily working off the jab and Crolla is able to land more of his by getting through Perez’ guard with superior angles. Crolla is also pushing the pace and working the body at times, causing Perez to taunt him about it at one point.

R2- A much faster pace is established from the start and maintained throughout. The two fighters are matching eachother tit for tat, having success with their jab, body work, uppercuts and defense alike. Crolla is typically getting off first, but Perez is showing better timing. This was a good round and about as close of a round as one could find, but I give Perez a razor-thin edge due to effective defense and (seemingly) accuracy.

R3- Perez is doing a lot more leading than he did in the last round with his one’s and two’s. Several times after giving and taking punches alike, Perez laughs at Crolla, who is still scoring well with the jab. The better body work in the round is done by Perez, though this certainly would not remain the case for the rest of the fight.

R4- Crolla steps on the gas. While walking Perez back, Crolla is able to score consistently with his jab and dig in hooks and uppercuts to the body and head alike. Perez gets in several counters of his own, but is being beaten to the punch and outworked. Crolla is visibly blocking and dodging more than Perez as well. A right uppercut to the body makes Perez nearly double over at the end of the round.

R5- While Perez is still able to snap his shots, he is unable to land much of keep Crolla off of him, and the body work has seemingly been taking a toll on him due to how easily Crolla is able to move him with as much as a jab. Crolla is landing as easily as he has ever been able to land on Perez now. Late, Crolla gets Perez on the ropes and lets go of a dummy combination that sets up an effective left hook to the body. Perez turns and drops to his knees, shaking his head. Midway, Perez drops further down to the canvas instead of rising. Triumphant finish for Crolla, who certainly came a long way to this point and had quite a year in 2015. Crolla and Perez seemed evenly matched for two fights until they just were not anymore. Unfortunately for Perez, his career would go downhill from here.
