Round 1- Pacquiao starts off snapping the jab and scoring with it well, and he is also to get in several lefts to the head behind it. In the final minute, Pacquiao starts to pound Ledwaba’s body with a plethora of big shots. Great start for the challenger, who has already bloodied the nose of the champion.

Round 2- Pacquiao comes out and continues to tag Ledwaba with right hooks and left hands to the head and body almost at will. At the end of a combination, Pacquiao sends Ledwaba to the canvas with a short straight left to the body. Ledwaba spends several moments trying to retreat, but Pacquiao is still able to nail him with plenty of left hands, even stumbling him at one point. Though Ledwaba does finally get in some shots of his own, Pacquiao is outlanding him by a heavy amount, and putting bad intentions behind every shot it seems. Another dominant round for Pacquiao. Joe Cortez even goes to Ledwaba’s corner after the round to see if he was going to continue after taking such a vicious assault.

Round 3- Ledwaba starts to utilize the jab more in the first half, but he is barely hitting Pacquiao with it. Pacquiao continues to score with big left hands to the face and body with ease, while also scoring well with the jab and right hook, seemingly landing three to every one for Ledwaba.

Round 4- The trunks of Ledwaba are visibly soaked in blood. Pacquiao continues to land straight lefts and three punch combinations on Ledwaba repeatedly. When Ledwaba lands power shots of his own, they are not doing anything to deter Pacquiao. While landing plenty of them in the round, a straight left to the head staggers Ledwaba before the bell.

Round 5- Pacquiao is still applying relentless pressure, and still landing big shots effortlessly. The 1-2 and 1-2-3 have been landing all night for Pacquiao. Ledwaba tries to go to the body a few times, but Pacquiao is blocking his shots, even taunting him at one point after doing so. A straight left rocks Ledwaba yet again at the bell, which Pacquiao raises his arms after it is sounded.

Round 6- Very quickly, Pacquiao sends Ledwaba on the seat of his pants with a sharp left hand right on the chin. Ledwaba looks out of it as he rises. Pacquiao does not have to follow up for long, as another left hand to the side of the face puts Ledwaba down a third time. Ledwaba is covering his face with his bloodied gloves in pain. Joe Cortez wisely puts an end to this massacre. What a breakthrough performance by Pacquiao, and what a butchering he dished out to a good champion in Ledwaba. One of the more underlooked wins in his career. Larry Merchant would talk about how he may eventually surpass Flash Elorde as the Filipino GOAT, and indeed he would.
